Special Services: When a customer needs us most, we are there for them!

At the transport logistic trade fair in Munich, trans-o-flex presented the service portfolio of its new Special Services division for the first time. “Whenever one of our customers suddenly has a shipment that is extremely urgent, sensitive, or important, or that requires special handling, that’s a case for Special Services,” said trans-o-flex CEO Martin Reder.

Reder sees the development of the Special Services division as an important signal: “We are there for our customers even, and especially, when they need us most.” To achieve this, the Special Services team uses various service options that are combined according to customer needs. “The classic service is a direct courier trip,” Reder explains. “According to the size of the shipment or its special requirements, such as temperature control, we organize a driver with the appropriate vehicle who picks up the goods within 90 to 120 minutes after order confirmation and drives directly to the destination.” But the service is not limited to road transport. “We use tools like OBC (On-Board Courier), Next Flight Out, or Air Charter.”

More than just transport: delivering, setting up, and stocking sales displays Special Services also includes White Glove Solutions. “This involves not just transporting the goods but treating them in a specific way,” says Reder. “One example of this is the setup and stocking of sales displays in pharmacies.” Specially trained drivers bring the displays to the pharmacies, set them up, fill them with the goods they also brought along, take all the packaging material with them again, and finally take photos of the finished display for documentation. A similar process applies to the shelf service. In this case too, the goods must not only be delivered but also, for example, immediately placed on the shelves.

When the patent for a medicine expires Another special feature is tailor-made logistics solutions for patent expiries. “This is plannable, but extremely time-critical,” Reder notes. Because when the patent protection for a drug expires, the generic that is available fastest in pharmacies often generates the largest turnover. “This is often supported by large advertising campaigns. In this case, the logistics have to be 100 percent right.”
