Dual studies: trans-o-flex offers further degree programmes with new partnership

  • Cooperation with IU International University launched
  • Start with Logistics Management and Real Estate Management – further degree programmes possible
  • Almost 60 young people in training and studying nationwide

Weinheim, 3 August 2021. For the 2021/22 training year, the express logistics specialist trans-o-flex has entered into a partnership with the IU International University of Applied Sciences, thereby expanding its training offer to include two dual study programmes. For the first time, two students will take the subjects Logistics Management and Real Estate Management in October. This year, a total of 19 new trainees and students throughout Germany will join the service provider specialising in logistics for pharmaceuticals, healthcare, cosmetics, technology and other sensitive goods.

“Through the cooperation with the IU, we can once again expand the spectrum of training opportunities at trans-o-flex and offer an additional form of study that combines theory and practice,” explains trans-o-flex CEO Wolfgang P. Albeck. “The concept of IU is similar to a vocational school, as students go to university twice a week and are in the company the rest of the week. As at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW), however, it is a three-year Bachelor’s degree programme with the option of completing a Master’s degree.”

The IU International University originated from the International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef; the abbreviation IU is the English abbreviation for International University. The private, state-recognised university of applied sciences is based in Erfurt and has various study locations, for trans-o-flex students, for example, in Mannheim. The IU offers English-language face-to-face study programmes, dual German-language study programmes as well as part-time and distance learning programmes in German and English. “We envisage further training programmes with the IU, but for now, we are looking at how the two new degree programmes in logistics management and real estate management are progressing,” says Albeck.

At trans-o-flex, a total of 59 women and men are currently completing training or studies in eight job profiles. In cooperation with the DHBW in Mannheim, trans-o-flex offers Bachelor’s degree programmes in business administration (with a focus on freight forwarding, transport and logistics), business informatics and information technology. Traditional apprenticeships are available as warehouse logistics specialists, IT specialists and specialists in freight forwarding and logistics services. Those who are interested can also obtain the additional qualification of logistics assistant.
