trans-o-flex and AUTOWELT.EBERT make a donation of green mobility for youth welfare

  • Expressdienst, together with AUTOWELT.EBERT, donates an electric smart car including a wall box to the Pilgerhaus Weinheim.

Weinheim, 3 March 2021. The Pilgerhaus Weinheim, regional supporter of evangelical youth and disability welfare, today added the first electric car to its fleet. The four-seater smart is a donation from trans-o-flex Expressdienst and AUTOWELT.EBERT. At the handover, Pilgerhaus Chairman Uwe Gerbich-Demmer commented: “We have set out to become a climate-friendly and sustainable institution and the use of e-mobility is part of our sustainability strategy.” The new E-smart will be used for journeys within the town of Weinheim as well as for journeys in the surrounding area. “The vehicle will be a valuable addition to our fleet, especially for trips to doctor’s appointments or therapies. It is both environmentally friendly and cheaper to use small, clean cars for such individual journeys.”

“With this donation, we are once again expressing our solidarity with Pilgerhaus Weinheim and are pleased to support it on its way to becoming a climate-friendly and sustainable institution,” said trans-o-flex CEO Wolfgang P. Albeck at the handover of the keys. “This fits in perfectly with our own goal of making trans-o-flex completely green by 2050 at the latest.” Since 2010, the company has documented its progress along this path in an annual sustainability report and has already been able to reduce the total amount of CO2 emissions by 20% up to 2019.

trans-o-flex procures actively temperature-controlled vehicles for the ThermoMed fleet and also its company car fleet via AUTOWELT.EBERT, which sells vehicles of the Mercedes-Benz, smart and ŠKODA brands. At the car dealership, its Managing Director Bernd Baldus and trans-o-flex CEO Wolfgang P. Albeck handed over not only the E-smart but also a charging station for the car. “This allows the vehicle battery to be charged from 10 to 80% in less than 40 minutes,” says Baldus.
