Starting this month, trans-o-flex’s Expressdienst has been offering all customers returnable containers under the name tof.ecobox, which they can use to replace disposable cardboard boxes in shipping and save more than 50% of climate-damaging carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) in the process. From trans-o-flex’s point of view, six factors are important for a returnable pool: transparent control, smart return logistics, originator-based billing, the design of the containers, the type of service the customer receives and proven environmental friendliness for both customers and consignees. The design of the containers was developed together with the pool operator @Smart Container Loop (SCL). Empty containers are taken away by trans-o-flex drivers from the consignees as soon as they deliver a new consignment.
