29 sites audited: doubly successful with certification marathon

  • Reward for very successful completion and exceptionally high number of audited sites: GDP certificates for trans-o-flex are valid for two years – one certification round saved

Weinheim, 23.8.2023. If a company’s processes comply with the EU’s Good Distribution Practice rules for pharmaceuticals, certification bodies usually confirm this for one year. At trans-o-flex, the GDP certificates issued by TÜV Süd in July and August are now valid for two years for the first time. The reasons: “This year, we didn’t just have a third of all sites audited as usual, but more than half, with 29,” explains trans-o-flex CEO Wolfgang P. Albeck. “We also did very well at all sites. Thanks to this combination, we were able to double the time until the next recertification and practically save ourselves a round of certification.”

GDP certification is particularly important for trans-o-flex because the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries are the logistics service provider’s core customers. “Despite the GDP certification, we still have numerous customer audits and can keep these individual audits to a minimum by providing proof of the GDP certificate,” Albeck continues. In total, trans-o-flex has received four GDP certificates in the current recertification round. “Each network, or independent logistics business unit, needs a separate certificate.” For example, TÜV Süd has issued GDP certificates for trans-o-flex Express, for trans-o-flex ThermoMed (one for the organisation in Germany, one for Austria) and for trans-o-flex Logistik-Service, which implements warehouse and contract logistics solutions at its five sites.
