Weinheim, 16. September 2019.

With 23 years, Franziska Kohl is one of the youngest training managers in Germany. It was in June that she took up her position at the headquarters of the trans-o-flex Logistics Group in Weinheim. Now she is responsible for the management of all DH students and trainees at the company’s various locations in Weinheim. trans-o-flex created the new position this year. “We are specifically investing in our training system in order to inspire young talents to join trans-o-flex so that we can meet our demand for specialists and managers, as far as possible, with people who are familiar with our system and its special solutions and quality requirements,” says Wolfgang P. Albeck, CEO of the Logistics Group.

In Weinheim, Kohl is currently responsible for a total of 26 young men and women who are either completing a three-year apprenticeship or a dual university degree (DH). Ten of them started their training in the current training year. At trans-o-flex, they are trained in four disciplines: business management assistants for freight forwarding and logistics services, IT specialists for system integration, IT specialists for application development and dual studies in business administration – freight forwarding at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Mannheim.

Kohl herself initially completed an apprenticeship as an office communications clerk and, at the same time, obtained a technical college entrance qualification at night school. She then worked briefly as a human resources officer before studying International Human Resources Management and Organization at Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences, graduating with a bachelor’s degree. At the same time, she obtained a trainer’s certificate. Kohl joined trans-o-flex immediately afterwards. “My main tasks are the 360-degree management of all trainees and DH students at the Weinheim sites,” she says about her own job description. In concrete terms, this includes the recruitment of new apprentices, the organisation and participation in training fairs. “I am the contact for the Chamber of Commerce as well as for schools and universities and one of my objectives is to continuously optimise the training and introduce “Young Talent Management”.”
