Promoting employees and society: A culture of respect and social commitment

 

Our employees must overcome many challenges in their daily working lives. For this to succeed, they need to be empowered accordingly. A diverse and inclusive corporate culture forms the basis for this, as does proactive health protection, employee engagement and the promotion and development of employees. Because only in a culture characterized by respect and trust, and workplaces that focus on protecting the health of employees and in which employees are involved and supported, can all employees fully develop their potential.

However, our social responsibility is not limited to people within our company. We also want to fulfill this responsibility through social commitment. Therefore, we are constantly identifying opportunities to support local communities and initiate charitable projects and partnerships that make a positive social contribution. The social commitment of employees in charitable organizations is also encouraged.

trans-o-flex as employer

Our employees are the key factor for the quality of our service. In addition to performance-related pay, it is particularly important to us that we recognize and promote the individual strengths of our employees and entrust them with the appropriate tasks. Because when these things come together, work is fun. And that is the greatest motivator. Recognizing and developing the strengths of each individual employee and deploying them where they can best use these strengths is therefore a particular focus at trans-o-flex.

Know-how, team spirit, loyalty and a positive attitude among our employees are important factors in achieving our strategic goals and business success. Because only when our teams are satisfied with their work, when a loyal and positive atmosphere has been established, can and will employees reach their full potential, work hard in the long term and make the company successful. We want to awaken and support this attitude in our employees.

All of this only works with a corporate culture in which differentiated and objective feedback, as well as constructive criticism are a matter of course and in which the work of each individual is valued. That is the reason why employee surveys and feedback for managers have been carried out in recent years. This way, employees have the opportunity to systematically and anonymously provide their personal feedback on working at trans-o-flex. Therefore, it is possible to constantly improve working conditions and take better account of employees’ individual needs.

trans-o-flex employees receive holistic development and support, from onboarding to targeted further development and talent management. To secure this the Training & Service department develops comprehensive training concepts for all trans-o-flex employees. Professionally equipped training centers, each responsible for a specific region, have been set up at seven locations to provide the necessary infrastructure. Moreover, the conditions have been created for employees to proactively undertake individual training and further education. In addition to employee development, strategic succession planning is one of the most important tasks of our HR team. This is not just about attracting young talent and retaining them in the company in the long term. Above all, it is also about recognizing, maintaining and specifically promoting the existing potential of our employees across all age groups. At the same time, it is about consistently qualifying our employees and enabling them to develop individually.

In addition to the training and further education of our own employees, the qualification of drivers from trans-o-flex transport partners is a particular focus. This is intended to prepare employees of system and transport partners for their tasks within the trans-o-flex network and ensure that they have the necessary qualifications and further training.

Since the employees at trans-o-flex need to meet high demands every day, it is also very important for us to offer a healthy working environment. It is our aim to protect the health of our employees, to enable a balance between work and leisure time and to offer each individual health-promoting support services. We also want to motivate our employees to lead a healthy lifestyle and encourage them to take responsibility for their own health. trans-o-flex supports its employees in avoiding factors that are harmful to their health and in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This applies to employees who carry out commercial activities, but especially to employees at our operational sites. Because the working environment of operational employees is classified as potentially dangerous, trans-o-flex places a special emphasis on occupational health and safety there. To ensure the safety of these occupational groups, the workplaces, workstations and work equipment used there are not only regularly inspected, but also training in safe working practices is carried out. This includes, for example, training in the handling of hazardous goods, fire drills or instructions on how to lift loads correctly. 

We see the interaction of people of different generations, origins or religions, with different talents and lifestyles as enriching. We are convinced that the diversity and variety of our employees is an important factor for the performance and success of trans-o-flex, as it makes it easier for us to develop and implement creative solutions. At trans-o-flex, around 2,000 people from 60 nations work together constructively and respectfully. By embracing diversity, we improve our ability to adapt to changing market conditions and increase our chances of competing for qualified specialists. As part of our HR management, we therefore ensure that we promote a diverse employee structure and offer all our employees the same opportunities regardless of age, origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability. We are convinced that unity in diversity is an effective means of promoting tolerance, counteracting employee turnover and strengthening the team spirit. At the same time, we can increase productivity through access to a broader range of skills and thus also increase our economic success.

Our code of conduct sets out a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination. After all, openness, trust and mutual respect are among the core values of our corporate culture. The equal inclusion of all employees in the day-to-day running of the company is just as much a matter of course for us as a firm stance against prejudice, discrimination and segregation. For we are convinced that the success of our company is above all a team success.

Social responsibility

Integrity and ethics are more than abstract concepts at trans-o-flex. They are a natural part of everyday business and, together with the values ​​of sustainability, innovation and quality, form the basis for trans-o-flex’s success. Our values ​​give us clear guidance for the way we work with each other and with customers and business partners. For trans-o-flex, it is therefore both an incentive and a challenge to develop sustainable solutions that make us a reliable and strong partner for all stakeholders, both now and in the future.

Since we make a significant contribution to maintaining medical care in Germany, trans-o-flex has a special responsibility in the healthcare sector. This responsibility towards suppliers and employees, our customers, investors and the public is formulated and set out in our code of conduct. It lays down the foundations for ethically, socially and legally correct conduct by the company and all its employees and at the same time sets standards for all those who enter business relationships with a trans-o-flex company. Our code of conduct follows generally recognized legal standards, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, anti-corruption laws and the Declaration of Human Rights. In addition, we have committed ourselves to the goals, objectives and guidelines of the UN Global Compact in our business activities.

Through the corporate citizenship concept, trans-o-flex is socially committed beyond its core business to make a positive contribution to the community. 

In addition to donations and sponsorships, participation in various sporting events, sponsoring children, supporting and cooperating with non-profit organizations and projects as well as various other aid campaigns, trans-o-flex has been implementing this concept by giving employees the opportunity to use a working day for social commitment since 2022.
