Focus Money names trans-o-flex the winner of the 2020 award

Weinheim (Germany), 2 November 2020According to a study by the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF), Hamburg, trans-o-flex is one of the four logistics service providers in Germany with the best price-performance ratio. On behalf of the magazine Focus Money, the IMWF has conducted the study “Preis-Sieger 2020” for around 23,000 brands and companies in Germany. trans-o-flex scored 85.1 out of 100 points and received a Silver rating for its price-performance ratio. No logistics service provider was awarded the Gold rating. Only three other logistics service providers were awarded between 85 and 89 points. Eleven other logistics service providers, who scored less than 80 points, were awarded Bronze.

For the study, which aims to show how good the price-performance ratio of brands and companies is, a total of 102 companies were rated in the logistics company category. Among them were manufacturers of intralogistics solutions such as SSI Schäfer and Kardex Germany, who were the only ones to score more than 90 points. The study is based on a methodology known as social listening. Between 1 July 2019 and 31 May 2020, texts were searched for on the Internet and social networks according to defined criteria and filtered according to three basic questions: Which brand or company is mentioned (entity matching)? What tonality does the text section have (sentiment matching)? Which topic is being discussed (event type matching)? From 438 million sources, a good 67 million mentions could be assigned to the 23,000 brands and companies and evaluated. “Due to the amount of data collected and its transparent analysis alone, this study can be rated very highly in terms of its informative value and independence”, says Wolfgang P. Albeck, CEO of trans-o-flex. “As a medium-sized company, we are all the more pleased about our success in being one of the four best logistics service providers in Germany.

To calculate the ranking, the tonality balance and reach are determined for each company and event type. The tonality balance is the difference between positive and negative mentions divided by the total number of mentions. For the range, the number of total mentions is set in relation to the average value for the industry. Both values are then added to an initial score. The greater the reach of a company, the greater the effect of tonality, i.e. whether communication is predominantly positive or negative in tone. The score of each event type weighted in this way is then combined into an overall score for each company and standardised for the entire industry. The best company represents the benchmark of the industry with 100 points, the other competitors are ranked according to their score.
