Storing, picking & packing as well as building, filling and distributing displays: from its logistic centre in Kerpen, trans-o-flex organises a complete range of services for the Swiss pet food specialist Nash & Nunki
Weinheim, 26th May 2010 - trans-o-flex's subsidiary TT Tour-Trans has been selected by the Swiss pet food specialist Nash & Nunki AG to assume the storage and distribution of dog and cat food. Since 2008, Nash & Nunki AG, based in Sarnen, Switzerland, has been exclusively distributing the premium dog and cat food labels IAMS and Eukanuba for the American Procter & Gamble Group. Within the scope of this co-operation, trans-o-flex is responsible for providing the complete range of services involved: stacking the several hundreds of different articles on approximately 2,000 pallets and storing them in its logistic centre in Kerpen near Cologne, managing the goods by batch and use-by date as well as delivering them as parcels, LCL, partial or full-truck load to the individual recipients. The customer base includes renowned companies, such as Fressnapf or Zooplus, as well as breeders and vets. In a second phase of this co-operation starting in the middle of this year, employees of trans-o-flex will be building and filling sales displays for the Nash & Nunki AG and control the distribution. Last but not least, trans-o-flex will also take over the logistics for giveaways and advertising material.
"In addition to the mere procurement and distribution of goods, trans-o-flex has always been a company that offers a wide range of additional logistic services", says Kai Schmuck, Managing Director of the trans-o-flex Logistics Group. "By acquiring TT Tour-Trans, our long-standing partner specialising on contract logistics, in 2005 we managed to successfully integrate this service in our business and can, thus, realise for our customers integrated logistic solutions from a single source." In order to handle all processes as fast, reliably and efficiently as possible, trans-o-flex, at the beginning of this year, invested in a new warehouse management and storage system that makes it possible to handle all processes in Kerpen without using any paper. The Windows-based software is client-capable and multi-lingual and communicates via interface with the customers' individual ERP systems, thus ensuring maximum transparency for all parties involved.
